Kei Trucks Gain Popularity in the US #

Measuring about half the length of a Ford F-150, Kei trucks are becoming increasingly popular despite their small size. These vehicles, known as ‘keitora’ in Japan, are manufactured to comply with Japanese light automobile regulations. In the past five years, the sales of Kei trucks have tripled, with approximately 7,500 imported into the US last year. Experts suggest that the surge in Kei truck popularity is driven by a pushback against larger, more expensive trucks. Kei trucks offer functionality and utility at a fraction of the price, with prices ranging from $500 to $6,000. While limited by state regulations, demand for Kei trucks continues to grow.
