The Mirage in Las Vegas is closing after 35 years to make way for the new Guitar hotel by Hard Rock. The closure reflects a shift in Las Vegas, where sports and entertainment now attract more tourists than gambling. Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to transform the legendary integrated resort. The Mirage, the first megaresort by Steve and Elaine Wynn, revolutionized Las Vegas and set the stage for the city’s rapid expansion. The future of Las Vegas lies in luxury experiences, high-end dining, entertainment, and sports packages. Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, purchased The Mirage in December 2022 and plans a spring 2027 reopening.
