Apple Reaches Tentative Labor Deal with Union at Maryland Store #

Apple has reached a tentative labor agreement with the union representing retail workers at its Towson, Maryland store. This marks the first labor agreement for any Apple store in the US. The agreement follows the workers’ decision to join the International Association of Machinists union in June 2022. The deal, which requires ratification by the 85 store members, includes scheduling improvements for work-life balance and a 10% pay increase over three years. It also offers job protections such as severance packages and limits on contract employees. This agreement may pave the way for union representation at other stores.
