Opinion: Why Liz Cheney's warning about Jim Jordan is spot-on
Liz Cheney's concerns about Rep. Jim Jordan, a candidate for House Speaker, are valid, according to Dean Obeidallah.

Former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney has expressed concerns about fellow Republican Jim Jordan, who is a candidate for speaker of the House of Representatives. Cheney stated that Jordan knew more about Donald Trump's plans for January 6 than any other member of the House and was involved in the conspiracy to overturn the election. The January 6 committee's final report supports Cheney's claims, documenting Jordan's significant role in Trump's efforts to overturn the election. The report highlights Jordan's participation in post-election meetings and his leadership role in strategizing ways to delay the certification process. Jordan also communicated with Trump multiple times on January 6 and made inconsistent public statements about their conversations. Despite being subpoenaed by the January 6 committee, Jordan refused to comply. Cheney argues that someone tied to efforts to block the certification of Biden's victory and who ignored a congressional subpoena should not serve as speaker of the House. Trump's endorsement of Jordan further raises concerns about his potential election as speaker. Cheney believes that if House Republicans elect Jordan, it would undermine their ability to defend the Constitution. The House GOP has a choice to make, and America will be watching.
